Petrova--"Zelensky was asked to leave without signing the deal. The White House reportedly refused to pay for the Ukrainian delegation's hotel, food, and transportation expenses. After years of finding common ground with US top officials, how could Zelensky (and his delegation, including Ukraine's Ambassador to the US Markova) so dramatically misread the room? Was the confrontation intentional by either side, both or neither?
As we were distracted by the heated exchange between Trump and Zelensky, two far more consequential events received little to no attention this week.
First, the release of the Epstein files was an utter train wreck as heavily redacted 120 pages of documents were distributed to a hand-picked group of trusted influencers, who, after joyfully exiting the West Wing, took the time to pose with the binders in front of the White House and then proceeded to post clearly coordinated messages on social media.
Second, the United States approved three arms packages worth $4 billion to Israel. The announcement came a day before the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire and the hostage exchange deal were set to expire. The White House claimed that the arms sale was an emergency, bypassing congressional oversight. Earlier this week, the Trump White House repealed a Biden-era national security memo that required countries to receive US weapons not to violate international law or block humanitarian aid."

Trump considers pausing all military aid to Ukraine after Zelensky meeting - report
This comes after Trump and Vance asked the Ukrainian president to leave the White House early.
The Trump administration is considering pausing all military aid to Ukraine, a senior White House official told the Washington Post on Friday. The anonymous officials said that the pending decision would halt billions of dollars of radars, vehicles, ammunition, and missiles awaiting shipment to Ukraine. Zelensky had come to Washington to sign a controversial critical minerals deal, wherein Ukraine would open up its vast mineral wealth to the United States. Still, it did not include American security guarantees, a disappointment for Ukraine.
