Former Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant has acknowledged ordering the army to use the Hannibal Directive to kill Israeli civilians and soldiers during the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023.
During an interview with Israel's Channel 12 on 7 February, Gallant admitted to ordering the controversial protocol that involves killing captives along with their captors.
When asked whether an order was given to implement the Hannibal Directive, Gallant responded: "I think that, tactically, in some places, it was given, and in other places, it was not given, and that is a problem."

Yesterday's report that the US government has been funding outlets such as Politico, the Associated Press, the BBC, and others raised more questions than it answered - though the obvious implication is that the US government has effectively been propping up regime-friendly media, which then peddles regime-friendly coverage - and spent years attacking independent outlets such as ZeroHedge, The Federalist, and many unlucky ones who have since been starved out of business.
And while funding for Politico and others has come from all over the federal government - WikiLeaks, citing a RSF report, highlighted that USAID was funding over 6,200 journalists across 707 media outlets and 279 "media" NGOs, which includes 90% of the reportage out of Ukraine.
According to a Reporters Without Borders (RSF) report, the Trump administration's freeze on foreign aid - roughly $268 million earmarked to fund media, has 'thrown journalism around the world into chaos.'
USAID was funding over 6,200 journalists across 707 media outlets and 279 "media" NGOs, which includes 90% of the reportage out of Ukraine. USAID and the CIA control foreign elections and have backed child trafficking operations, transporting children across the US southern border. Both Democrats and Republicans support USAID.
While Secretary of State Marco Rubio is reportedly downsizing USAID, retaining only 294 of the agency's 14,000 employees worldwide, critics are concerned that corrupt Republicans will misuse USAID
