Medvedev responded to Trump's words about a strike on Moscow
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev responded to recent statements by Donald Trump, in which the former US President allegedly threatened to strike Moscow if Russia continued military action. In his commentary, Medvedev emphasized that the only possible response to such threats would be a strike on the US capital, Washington.
...He[Trump] is usually as smooth as silk in negotiations. And there is only one answer to such words: your f**king Washington will also be subjected to a blow. Usually our relations with him are quite warm," Medvedev said.
Earlier, Trump's words about the possibility of a strike on Moscow were published in an interview for The Wall Street Journal. The former US president said that during a conversation with Vladimir Putin, he allegedly warned the Russian leader about the serious consequences for Moscow in the event of an attack on Ukraine. However, Trump did not specify when and under what circumstances this conversation could have taken place.
Medvedev's comments came after Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov also commented on the statement, stressing that the Kremlin does not disclose the content of high-level conversations, but said that such threats were unlikely to be part of official negotiations.(excerpts)
