In a statement on Sunday, the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies said the division "was responsible for the mass murder of innocent civilians with a level of brutality and malice that is unimaginable."
"An apology is owed to every Holocaust survivor and veteran of the Second World War who fought the Nazis, and an explanation must be provided as to how this individual entered the hallowed halls of Canadian Parliament and received recognition from the Speaker of the House and a standing ovation," the statement said.
Canada's Leader of Opposition Pierre Poilievre pointed out Trudeau's "appalling error in judgment".
In his post on social media platform X, Poilievre said Liberals arranged for a Nazi veteran to be recognized on the floor of the House of Commons during Zelensky's visit.
He said that it was an "appalling error in judgment" on Trudeau's part, as the prime minister's office is responsible for arranging and vetting all guests and programming for state visits.

I took the jab
"I got vaccinated, did it 3 times. with AstraZeneca tho, I don't even know if that makes a difference now but yeah, I did that. At that time I was scared and confused, I lived with my grandparents and I was just getting bombarded with the message that if I didn't get the vaccine I would be risking my loved ones' lives. I now feel that I got manipulated when I was at my lowest, I did get warned but I had this "science is the truth" mentality and I trusted the system. I'm now concerned about my health, I'm scared that I won't be able to have children or just die of something random. It is one of my biggest regrets. I know many are going to tell me "We warned you" but I was just in a pretty dark place and naive. At least I have different views now."
