"A Walk on the Wild Side" (1962) is a would-be film noir starring Laurence Harvey who plays "Dove Linkhorn," a God-fearing Texas cowboy infatuated with a beautiful young woman "Hailie Gerard" (Capucine) who has become a high-priced prostitute at the mob-controlled Doll House brothel in 1930's New Orleans.

Bosley Crowther of the New York Times was not approving: "Everything in this sluggish picture...smacks of sentimentality and social naiveté. It is incredible that anything as foolish would be made in this day and age...."

Based on a Nelson Algren novel, the dramatic tension consists in whether Hailie will be able to escape her comfortable but immoral life to marry Dove whom she truly loves.

In one scene, when she has regressed, Hailie tells Dove that he must pay for her sexual services, like all her other customers. Dove accepts her offer and hands her a wad of cash.

But when it comes down to it, Hailie cannot take money for sex from the man she loves. She breaks down.

Sex is an expression of love. It was called "making love" for a reason. Sex is the prize women must reserve for their husbands.

Otherwise, it is soul destroying--the most intimate act in life performed with a stranger? It's love people are really seeking. Sex is just a duplicitous surrogate. That's why Satanists promote it.

The film illustrates how Sex is overrated --treated as a religious sacrament -- because Western society is a Cabalist  (satanic) sex cult. (See link below) Sex is elevated above masturbation only when it is expresses love.

Jane Fonda, 25 at the time, was a terrific actress.  Too bad she didn't stay out of politics.

James C said (June 4, 2023):

How come you are so smart.

Once again you have exposed the truth of the matter.

Integration of men and women who truly care for one another until they die.

Call it love, devotion, caring, or …. It’s unique today!

It is what it is. Special, unique. Normal men and women seek it.
