Note from a reader's friend....Sunday morning
Milk Creek near Coutts, Alberta
A plane (approx 12 seater) and a police helicopter landed in a nearby
field. Several full sized police vans rolled in and approximately 75
police in full shield gear approached Matt's group in a line. The
farmers and truckers formed a complete group of about 150, linked arms
and approached the police in line. As they walked they sang 'Oh
Canada'. They came to a stand-off and one of the truckers whom no one
had seen before ran towards the police and threw himself down on the
ground. The police moved to arrest the man (most likely a plant). The
other truckers didn't take the bait. A former RCMP special ops in the
trucker group spoke to the police and told them they were out of line
for showing up using intimidation. He asked them where the orders came
from as he knew all the commanding officers by name. The police had
nothing to say. Then one of the trucker leaders walked up to the police
line with his bible and asked the police if he could pray for them. He
did so for a few minutes. The police backed down and many hands were
shaken and there were even a few embraces.
It was an amazing result but a very intense situation at the start.
Interestingly, CTV and CBC "just happened" to show up 1 1/2 hours before
it all went down.
Matt said the core group of 30 are all Christian men and pray every
morning led by a pastor who has been arrested 15 times."
