In a previous demonstration, about six months earlier, at the parliament building, in which we all marched down Osborne and back, demonstrating and chanting, there was no noticeable MSM. About a third of passerby's, flipped us the bird. Many were very angry, and told us to FO. They refused to engage us in any debate. I felt alone and fearful. As part of a meager group, 200 hundred or so, I could not feel like I was making a difference.
Compared to that, the Convoy experience, yesterday, was 100% different. From the start, people ever where, were cheering and give us the thumbs up. People where honking their horns all over the place. Cars and trucks, and vans full of people, and signs of all kinds, splashing messages, including huge signs FO TRUDEAU. There were flags and signs F Trudeau, professionally made. The lead truck, had an enormous sigh, signed CONVOY. The second truck was a low bed, with Bayles of hay, forming a huge wall. It read "My Freedom Does Not End With Your Fear Of Covid". As the Convoy proceeded North to the Perimeter Hwy to head West to Portage Ave, truck after truck, vans and cars followed in support, with their flashers on. All fell in to line. As we proceeded towards Portage, at a slow roll, CTV had reporters and cameras running alone side. We screamed, "We Are Not Protesting Road Conditions", as was reported by them earlier. We screamed "Tell The Truth", "what is the Truth they yelled back". You Know The TRUTH. We held high a sigh signed Nuremberg 2.0 IS COMING. As we proceeded, overpasses and intersections had many people standing out of their cars in freezing -25C weather, yelling and cheering, and clapping, and hugging one another. I fought back tears. My daughter was doing the same. We proceeded East on Portage, towards Broadway, and then onward to the Parliament Building, where we stopped, to wait for another two Convoys to meet us. People everywhere were standing around talking about Covis19, all were of like mind. People were offering standing Police donuts, sandwiches, and drinks, all of which was declined. CBC was there, Global was there, The Free Press (TFP) was there.
My daughter says, there are literally thousands of cheering spectators, waving flags and signs. There are many FY Trudeau (FYT) signs and flags on the trucks and cars. There is about 50 50 trucks and cars. This is a high degree of euphoria in all. People are buying each other coffee and snacks. My daughter said this is all very encouraging. There are wild estimates of both, the number of vehicles, and the length of the Convoy in Kms ranging to upwards of 100 Kms long. Ontario and Quebec are yet to join. This could be huge. I hope it will be so."
