Peace Sign Satanic, writes James

I have been involved in full-time Christian ministry since 1989, and come from a "different" sort of background myself that the Lord delivered me from in 1983.  I have seen 'many' under spiritual bondage set free by Jesus Christ and have seen both witches and Satanists (not just people involved but also a few genuine priests and priestesses in covens as well) set free over the years (the burden God has given to me is for the bound and hurting).  You are mostly correct on the "peace symbol".  That name for it became popular in the 1960's because of the influence of witchcraft (of several different varieties) seeping into the psychedelic hippie movement.  It's recognition and name became very popular through them.

It is actually the "broken cross".  This has to do with the entrance into the priesthood of certain darker witchcraft groups and also some more Satanic groups when entering into their levels of priesthood (either male or female).  If you came from a Christian environment and was raised as a Christian, then as part of your initiation (oddly they have almost identical oaths... in the demonic disciplines which I am describing... as the first 3 levels of Freemasonry except they end it with 'so mote it be' instead of 'God keep me steadfast') you were required to take a cross (usually ceramic) and invert it.  Then you would break the crossbars down in a symbolic rejection of Jesus Christ and the Christian Faith. Basically... it is an act of apostasy.  It is called the "peace symbol" because it is supposed to give you peace while performing magick... why? Because it is an act of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit so you are not bothered with conviction from the Holy Spirit letting your conscience know that what you are doing is evil.  It is 'much' older than the hippies or the 1960's (I am not sure on this one, but believe it is more medieval in its roots), but the "love culture" of the extremely high hippie movement used it extensively so that it became well-known everywhere.

Wiccans don't generally have this ceremony (or so I have been told), but the darker orders do.  If you weren't raised a Christian, then you would not be required to reject Jesus this way by the way.  I am sorry, but it isn't so much the triangular cross or duck's foot idea, but it is the broken crossbars of the Christian inverted cross.  I am not sure why I felt almost prodded to write... but it didn't hurt anything.
