is "to exercise an occult overlordship upon society;
[its] sole raison d'etre is to wage war against God and His church."

Addressing the Church April 20, 1884, Pope Leo XIII published his magnificent Encyclical "Humanum Genus."
Taking up Saint Augustine's analogy of the two cities which on earth constitute the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Satan, the Pontiff reviews the progress of Freemasonry and writes:
"It is now [public knowledge] that [Freemasons] undertake to ruin the Holy Church, so as to succeed, if it is possible, in the complete dispossession of Christian nations of all the gifts they owe to Our Savior Jesus Christ.
"As a result, in the space of a century and a half, the sect of the Freemasons has made incredible progress. Making use ... of audacity and cunning, Masonry has invaded all the ranks of social hierarchy, and in the modern States it has begun to seize a power which is almost equivalent to Sovereignty.
Leo XIII refers frequently to the hypocrisy which is the basis of "White Freemasonry" and mentions its revolutionary aims which turns it into "Red Masonry."
This Encyclical most strikingly reveals the triple Masonic character, namely:

"It aims at the complete destruction of the foundations of justice and honesty. In this way Freemasons make themselves the auxiliaries of those who wish that, like an animal, man had no other rule of conduct than his own desires -- Such a scheme can only dishonor human kind and ignominiously cast him into perdition."
" Laying this down, they care little for duties to God, or pervert them by erroneous and vague opinions. For they deny that anything has been taught by God; they allow no dogma of religion or truth which cannot be understood by the human intelligence, nor any teacher who ought to be believed by reason of his authority."
2. Counter State
Pope Leo XIII foresaw that Freemasonry would soon form the Super State [i.e. world government]. [Whence] there was issued the Masonic dogma of separation of Church and State; thence, issued also the anti-religious laws which Brother Bethmont, [a Freemason explained as follows:]
"Violence against the Church leads nowhere, we shall use other means. We shall organize a persecution which shall be both clever and legal; we shall surround the Church with a network of laws, decrees and ordinances which will stifle it without shedding one drop of blood."
Who, may I ask, is making those closely woven nets of laws, decrees and ordinances? The State, of course, but it is a Masonic State, an irreligious State under the power of a Super State which at the present moment is the Ruler of the World.
It is with a feeling of fear that one brings to mind the death sentence pronounced against humanity in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion."
"When we introduced into the State organism the poison of Liberalism its whole political complexion underwent a change. States have been seized with a mortal illness -- blood poisoning. All that remains is to await the end of their death agony."
That Super State is called Judeo-Masonry.

"The facts which we have reviewed throw sufficient light upon inner constitution of Freemasons and show clearly the road they are following in order to reach their goal. Their chief dogmas are so completely and manifestly opposed to sane reason that it is difficult to imagine deeper perversion. In reality, is it not the peak of madness and of the most audacious impiety to be so presumptuous as to want to destroy the religion and the Church created by God Himself: and assured of His perpetual protection; and after 18 centuries to want to replace it with the customs and institutions of pagans?"
"Still no less horrible nor easy to bear to witness the repudiation of those gifts which, in His mercy, Jesus Christ bestowed first on individuals, then to human beings grouped both in families and in nations. Even the enemies of Christianity acknowledge the supreme value of those gifts.
"There is no denying that in this foolish and criminal plan it is easy to understand the implacable hatred and passion for revenge which animate Satan toward Jesus Christ. We refuse to follow the dictates of such iniquitous masters that bear the names of Satan and of all evil passions."

Pecci was sixty eight years old when he was elected pope in 1878. He wrote 85 encyclicals. Humanum Genus was #14, published in 1884.
Vincenzo Pecci (Leo XIII) was one of seven brothers born of an ancient Italian noble family residing near Rome. His brother Giuseppe became a Holy Order Jesuit priest, Vincenzo joined the secular clergy, specializing in law and politics. At 27 he was appointed by Pope Gregory XVI as a papal prelate. (That's something like a West Point graduate being made an attache to the General Chiefs of Staff upon graduation). The pope then made Monsignor Pecci the legate (provincial administrator) of Benevento. In those days the post of legate in the Papal States had civil authority. The situation in the province was similar to the Mexican Mafia wars in Nueva Laredo and Juarez. Pecci arrested powerful kingpins and administered a successful military crackdown on thugs. With order restored, he reformed local taxes to restore normal trade between neighboring provinces.
Humanum Genus takes on a fuller dimension when you know that the future Leo XIII was already an Archbishop when the
'Revolutions of 1848' broke out across Europe. Also dubbed the 'Springtime of the Peoples' these upheavals of riots and assassinations were fomented through the Jacobin lodges of Freemasonry. [1] He lived through Garibaldi's openly Masonic war on Vatican, [2] and the end of the temporal power of the Papal States.
He also lived through the First Vatican Council. (Whenever the Roman Catholic Church lost serious concessions of power they called a Council to get their act together. The previous big council was Trent in the 16th century, in response to the Protestant Reformation).
It helps to know Leo XIII's full story before reading Humanum Genus. In his era, International Freemasonry had pulled out all the stops to destroy the Roman Catholic Church. It wasn't until Garibaldi found the Roman Church still too embedded in Western civilization's institutions, not to mention the vast numbers of the faithful throughout the world. That's when Mazzini drafted 'plan b'. We have that document today, it's called Alta Vendita.[3] It details a long term business plan to infiltrate the Roman Catholic clergy, to eventually take control of it, and turn it into a tool of Freemasonry.
I know some readers are Catholics who've been studying these things, and the question for them isn't "if" Freemasonry hijacked the Catholic Church, it's a question of "WHEN". Well, we know for sure from Bella Dodd's testimony at the McCarthy Hearings in 1953 that the Communist Party USA funded at least 1000 subversives into the seminaries during the 1930's who were to be given every manner of support fair and foul (including blackmail) to rise to highest ranks of the Episcopate.[4]
But Freemasonry was in the Vatican many years before that. Over a century ago, at least.
The late Canon lawyer, Monsignor Gregory Hesse (once Secretary to Cardinal Stickler at the Vatican), said that Pope Leo's own Secretariat of State was later rumored to have founded his own irregular Masonic lodge inside the Vatican. He was Cardinal Mariano Rampolla del Tindaro [5], a lodge connected to Theodor Reusse's Ordo Templi Orientis, the year before Crowley took it over.

Curiously, Leo XIII’s secretary of state of Cardinal Rampolla, who was widely suspected of being a freemason, was listed among the leading lights of Crowley’s OTO, in the order's Liber LII: Manifesto of the OTO.
Leo XIII had issued one the most profound condemnations of Freemasonry, the encyclical Humanum Genus in 1884. Like Pope Pius IX before him, Leo XIII requested the publication of the Alta Vendita, a text purportedly produced by the highest lodge of the Italian Carbonar, which had been led by Mazzini, who was the reputed successor to Weishaupt as head of the Illuminati.
The Alta Vendita was first published by Jacques Crétineau-Joly in The Church and the Revolution. Astoundingly, the document details a Masonic plot to infiltrate the Catholic Church and ultimately install a pope of their own, warning though that it might take as long as a century to achieve. The pamphlet was popularised in the English-speaking world by Monsignor George F. Dillon in 1885 with his book the War of Anti-Christ with the Church and Christian Civilization.
However, when Leo XIII died in 1903, it was widely expected that Rampolla would be elected pope. His candidacy gained momentum until the last moment when the Austrian Emperor Francis Joseph I, imposed the veto Jus exclusivae during the Conclave. Craig Heimbichner, writing in the August 2003 Catholic Family News, states that Monsignor Jouin is said to have intervened personally with Emperor Franz Joseph to ask for the Jus exclusivae to be invoked, having procured some evidence that Cardinal Rampolla had at least a close affinity with the Freemasons.
