The Secret to Why Celebrities Are Bashing Trump
by Mike Mains

Are you amused (or appalled) by the celebrity backlash that Donald Trump is receiving? Robert DeNiro wants to punch Donald Trump in the face. Katie Perry wants to start a revolution. Miley Cyrus can't stop crying. And on and on and on. The sheer magnitude of it is astounding.
What's behind it, you ask? As someone who has worked in Hollywood and met many of these same celebrities, let me fill you in on a little secret: it has nothing to do with Trump's policies or rhetoric. What's upsetting to all of these outspoken celebrities, and what's really driving them to tears (poor Miley), is the fact that they aren't being listened to; that their political opinions are ignored by the masses; that they've suddenly become (gasp!) irrelevant.
For a celebrity to be labeled irrelevant is the kiss of death. Their entire existence thrives on attention and being catered to. When suddenly no one wants to listen to them, they experience the first symptoms of approaching death: denial, followed by anger. And that anger is being projected onto the man who best reflects their irrelevancy: President Elect Donald J. Trump.
When you see or read about a celebrity bashing Trump, what you are really seeing is a desperate cry for help. "Listen to me!" they're shouting. "I am not irrelevant!"
And it's not just entertainers who are experiencing this. The public's rejection of the status quo is happening all across the spectrum: sports, media, political parties. Trump has inspired people to turn their backs on mainstream media, to turn off the boob tube (with its meaningless sporting events), and to cast out the traitors in the Republican Party, and the howls of protest are deafening.
Mainstream media hacks are vociferous in their denunciation of Trump, because he has rendered them all meaningless. Television ratings for the NFL are way down, and many of the athletes are furious at Trump. Republican traitors have been fuming about Trump for months - because he has demonstrated to the world that nobody needs them.
So the next time you see or hear about anyone with name recognition bashing Trump, understand that what you are seeing has nothing to do with Trump, and everything to do with the basher. Trump has called their bluff. Trump has made them irrelevant.
