The evidence of this fact would require a book to properly illustrate. Let us just explore a few of the more salient facts.

Jerusalem is identified specifically in scripture as "the great whore, drunk with the blood of the saints".

This sort of 'eisogesis' (reading INTO Scripture that which is not there) is of the Dispensational/Chiliast heresy p.o.v., condemned by Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran, Anglican and Reformed Protestant authors alike!

Better to have a competent writer submit a column detailing the historical position on these topics, or reference a 'middle of the road' author such as the Rev. Stephen Sizer, an Anglican Englishman, and his IVP (a major Evangelical publishing house) Press books, such as "Zion's Christian Soldiers?: The Bible, Israel and the Church.'

If you prefer not to go there, then at least offer up another 'alternative' scenario about Israel, teh Church, and the Levant, from the Christian Identity position.

What is missed repeatedly, is that Revelation is not literal, it is a book of symbols, with very numerous references to Old and New Testament imagery. Literacy of the bible is the key to understanding Revelation, which draws the bible to a close.

There's an earthly Jerusalem which Revelation calls Sodom and Egypt, and there is the new/ heavenly Jerusalem - heaven, but also the church- "But ye are come unto mount Sion... the heavenly Jerusalem...To the general assembly and church..." Hebrews 12:22-23.

The attack is on the camp of the Saints -the church(Rev. 20:9) by the enemies of God. More and more earthly Israel is being seen as an enemy of God. This is also tied into the versus about the millennium, and there are several widely varying interpretations about what that is.

Finally someone said it. This is exactly what I've believed for quite awhile. Jews are supposedly the "chosen people" and I agree. They were chosen by God to usher in Jesus Christ two thousand years ago And they are chosen the usher in the Anti-Christ in the end times. I think they are the way they are because they were specifically designed that way to serve God's purpose.

There is a Christian doctrine that says toward the end the age of grace that the light of the church will go out. What you are marveling at is this coming to pass.
