$38 Trillion is a lot of money and I would ask that someone show us what the money went. We should have something to show for it even if it's only worth $ 1 trillion. Where did it go?
Then, my other thought is why is $38 trillion the trigger point? Are they saying one trillion wasn't a big enough number to cause a concern to enact a change in fiscal behavior? $5, 10 or 20 trillion? No, its $38 trillion that makes us in trouble?
These are the same people that tell us Social Security is broke and only by increasing the age of retirement or cutting benefits can it be saved. This, after people paid in 6.2% tax plus a 6.2% match by the employer for a lifetime. These same people will tell us that 10% of our incomes placed in an IRA will serve us through retirement years.
This stuff isn't new and we keep falling for it over and over again.
BTW, I heard one conservative Trump supporter say those two French islands off the coast of eastern Canada should be the USA's along with Greenland. Most Americans don't even know where they lie and I just learned myself from watching a Canadian TV comedy.
