If the bible is what it claims to be, then we cannot honestly do this. If it isn't what it claims to be, then we are free to carve it up and parcel it out as we please, just as in a cafeteria.

Bible critics wonder how "a God of love" could ever issue such harsh judgments as are seen in the bible. IMO, this is because such critics have subscribed to two false ideas, namely that unconditional love and unconditional forgiveness are biblical. In reality, Christ said forgiveness was conditional (Luke 17:3-4).

And the cry of the martyrs calling on God to avenge their blood certainly doesn't sound like either unconditional love or unconditional forgiveness (Revelation 6:9-10). The God of the bible destroyed the antediluvians because, "the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his [their] heart was only evil all the day" (Genesis 6:5).

In brief, human beings through their own actions can become what the bible calls "worthy of death" (Romans 1:32). I would place child molesters, drug and sex traffickers, warmongers, etc., in this category.

I am not convinced the above statement is a fair depiction of Jews. What I have come to believe is that the Jewish elite define all words relative to their needs at each moment. Most Jews are fascists when it is best for them or communists or anything in between and this can change on the spot. They already define that they only are the "chosen" and what qualifies as a soul-bearing being. They interpret their bible as they deem necessary for the present moment to allow an increase in their wealth while destroying the Goyim, who are but mere animals to be exploited. So maybe one could say...Most Jews are farmers of the Goyim for their own material increase and have no interest in a neighborly relationship with the Goyim. A comparison for the Goyim is how a goy farmer relates to his pigs or cows. One might even argue the goy farmer is kinder to his animals than the Jew to the Goyim on the best of days.

What those Israelites were engaging in at the foot of Mount Sinai was a return to Baal worship, probably the sickest religion the world has ever witnessed. The golden calf was a form of the sun god Baal. Currently there are many "translations" of the New Testament, especially newer ones, that are deleting and changing passages as well as references to Jesus. This strategy by Satan to change the Word of God is not new.

Perhaps an accurate Old Testament translation doesn't exist that has not been corrupted since coming out of Babylon.

Douglas Reeds' Controversy of Zion sheds light on this and creates a link from Moses till now. It helps explain why the God of the Old Testament is so different in the New Testament.

If you look at the whole Bible, the God of the Bible is a Loving Merciful God but he is also a Just God that sometimes in human eyes has to act harshly. So it is the same God who says Love your Enemies but told the Jews to kill all the nations around them in the OId Testament (because all those nations were devil worshipers as well as more then likely had fallen angel DNA in them so they were half human and half not). If you look at the last book of the Bible, Revelations, this is all about Jesus coming back as lion and acting with no mercy and no remorse to the Anti-Christ and all his followers.

The God of the Bible is a very fair God; he has given humanity plenty of time to see it's errors and the ones that have excepted he will show mercy ... now to the ones that act like little rebellious brats he will show his more harsh side; their is no true love without true justice. God ain't a fool ... he won't allow the devil and his minions to spit in his face. For me as a Christian this saves me from doing something real stupid knowing that God will punish the devil, and all his minions for all their evil acts. This year 2 of those minions have passed on and met their maker; Rockefeller and Brzezinski ... I hope there will be more.

Henry this is gnosticism. I am interested in it too, Marcion in fact believed the God of the old testament was the devil. Valentinus believed it was a semi good semi bad god called the Demiurge. Personally I tend to agree with MG that the nations of Canaan were genetically contaminated by the dna of the Nephilim (Anakim). They were not humans but devil worshipping hybrid beings. So there is no commandment to kill any humans. However, Valentinus and the gnostics have a point here. Matt. 19:8 This shows that the old testament laws did indeed contain elements that were either demonic influence or meant as stepping stones towards a higher level of consciousness. The attempted sacrifice of Isaac also manifests a demonic side to the old testament God. However, personally
I am at the place where I believe that the Old Testament God is the true good God, but that there are some elements that needed correction by subsequent prophets. The Ten commandments are the basis of morality from the true God. Maybe the worshiping of the golden calf, and the divorcing of wives was straying from the true law of God and prophets were sent later like Jesus to correct it. To be fully gnostic would mean to believe that the devil created the world. I do not believe that
